Ejatu, fondly known to her countrymen as the "Rapper Dem Step Mama"(the rappers' step-mother) was born Ejatu Deen in the infamous community called Mountain Cut in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
She was fortunate to escape the famous civil war with family and in the process traveled to Gambia, Canada, and the United States.
The young star was always known for her exceptional talent in music as she would collect awards at multiple talent shows. But it was only after a brief stint in Sierra Leone where she was able to tap into her culture and thereby discovering her true identity.
Fast forward to 2016 she is back in the United States and links up with her current label mate That Boy Jay. The two artists then decided to put more effort into the music by networking with producers, artists and promoters alike beginning in their community of Sierra Leoneans.
Ejatu quickly caught the eyes and hearts of music lovers and her name and sound have been on the rise ever since.
After releasing multiple singles and visuals to introduce herself, Ejatu has finally released a 9 track EP titled "Testing the Waters." The album ranges from Hip Hop to R&B to Afrobeats showcasing the amazing talents and boundless versatility of the superstar.
